That is in a Nebraska town that feature a few crumbling abandoned buildings, haunted lane, uninhabited wilderness, and the only business in town, a tavern. Seventy-seven year old, Elsie Eiler is owner and the only resident of the said town. Many report say that the the new 2010 Census data states that Monowi is the only incorporated town, village or city in the whole country to have a single soul as the whole population. In 2000, the town's population was 50 percent more, having Elsie's husband who have died in 2004. The town's only tavern is open for business every day selling a bottle of beer for two bucks and hamburgers could be cooked the 3 decade old four-burner stove top for $2.50. The old woman has regular going each and everyday, all- year round because she sells beer 25 cents lower that the next town. Among the tavern, Elsie also runs the town library which has about 5,000 books. The library was constructed in the memory of her husband. She lives in a mobile home parked not away from the library. Eiler being the only town's resident is town's mayor dealing with the town business like the annual budget which is $500 a year and it goes mostly on the electric bill from the 4 lamp post lit in the town. The 30's was the town's peak, it had a population of 150 which gradually reduced when the railroad left it. The town was founded by European immigrants in 1902 and now it still stands.
